Geographic Range [top]

Range Description:Clermontia oblongifolia is endemic to the Hawaiian Islands. Three subspecies are known, occurring on O'ahu (Clermontia oblongifolia ssp. oblongifolia), Moloka'i (Clermontia oblongifolia ssp. brevipes) and Maui (Clermontia oblongifolia ssp. mauiensis). On Moloka'i and Maui there are fewer than 30 individuals remaining and both of these subspecies are assessed as Critically Endangered (CR D). However, on O'ahu the species is relatively common.

Major Threat(s): Threats to the species include feral pigs, rodent and slug predation and loss of pollinators.

Conservation Actions: The subspecies Clermontia oblongifolia ssp. brevipes and Clermontia oblongifolia ssp. mauiensis currently are classified as endangered by the US Endangered Species Act.
