Justification: A vine endemic to Ecuador, where it was collected in Azuay province in 1945 and never seen again. The type collection was 1–8 km north of Sevilla de Oro, near the Parque Nacional Sangay. The endemic Asclepiadaceae Matelea harlingii has been collected in the same area. No specimens of this species are housed in Ecuadorian museums. Habitat destruction is the only known threat to the species.

Range Description:	Known only by the type, collected 1-8 km north of Sevilla de Oro, near the Parque Nacional Sangay, Azuay province.
