Justification:
An epiphytic aroid endemic to Ecuador, where it is known from only two subpopulations, both in southeastern provinces. The type was collected by M. Madison in 1976 in the Cordillera de Cutucú, and another collection was made in Zamora-Chinchipe province in 1988. No specimens of this species are housed in Ecuadorian museums. Habitat destruction is the only known threat to the species.
