|Population:||There is no population information available for this species. This species is not considered common, but is cryptic and may be overlooked. For example, it is considered rare in Malpelo Island. It may be more abundant at greater depths. For example, it is considered common between 50 and 100 m at Clipperton Island (Robertson, pers comm 2007).|
|Habitat and Ecology:||This reef-associated species inhabits rocky and coral reefs from 25 to 250m. It feeds on mobile benthic crustaceans and bony fishes.|
|Major Threat(s):||There are no major threats known for this species. Because it is a deep-water species, it is unlikely that collection for the aquarium trade is a threat to this species.|
|Conservation Actions:||There are no known species specific conservation measures. However, this species' distribution includes a number of Marine Protected Areas in the Eastern Pacific region.|
