| Taxonomic Notes: | Only one specimen (the holotype) is known which is a 57 cm TL adult male. This genus of sharks needs to be revised in the region. Many of the characters used to distinguish the species vary remarkably intraspecifically. Thus more individuals of this species are required to confirm its validity. | |||||||||

| Major Threat(s): | Unknown, but presumably utilized in local fisheries (Compagno 2001). Myanmar has a demersal trawl fleet for shrimp and finfish (Flewwelling and Hosch 2006). This species would be vulnerable to this fishery and perhaps others in the area but no data are available. Little information is available on fisheries operating off Myanmar (Flewwelling and Hosch 2006). |
| Conservation Actions: | None in place. |
