Habitat and Ecology: Inhabits arid and semiarid grassland and scrubland between the upper limits of coniferous forest and the edge of snow line. Found in forest-steppe, steppe and mountain-steppe habitats associated with juniper and alpine meadows and rocky meadow outcrops.
