L. turskyi has an extremely limited distribution. It was thought to be extinct but has recently been found in May 2002 by Freyhof and Bogutskaya (Freyhof, J. and Bogutskaya, N. pers comm). It has an extent of occurrence (EOO) <100 km² and area of occupancy (AOO) <10 km² and survives at one location, the Cikola River. There is a continuing decline of area of occupancy due to water extraction and drought.

Range Description:It is restricted to the Cikola River with extremely limited distribution. The Cikola is a tributary of the Krka river in Croatia.
