Reviewer(s): Dijkstra, K.D. & Suhling, F. (SSC Odonata Specialist Group) & Allen, D. (IUCN Freshwater Biodiversity Unit)
There are very few, mostly old, records, which are all listed in Pinhey, 1982. During a recent survey in Ethiopia by Clausnitzer and Dijkstra, this species was not found. But all of the geographically more precise records are from north and east Ethiopia, an area not visited during this survey. Thus this species is assumed to be restricted in its area of occurrence. The water quality of rivers, streams and lakes north and east of Addis Ababa is known to be very bad. Thus the species is listed as Vulnerable despite the poor information available. More information may even show that this species qualifies for a higher threat category.
