Habitat and Ecology [top]

Habitat and Ecology: It is a terrestrial species that inhabits deciduous forest, including forest with some pines, living on the ground where it is usually found beneath leaves and bark. The species can survive in degraded forest (in fact, this is all that remains within its known range). It presumably reproduces by direct development.

Threats [top]

Major Threat(s): The major threat to the species is habitat loss due to subsistence agriculture (including livestock farming), logging, and human settlement. The remaining habitat in its range is already severely degraded.

Conservation Actions [top]

Conservation Actions: It might occur in Parque Nacional Benito Juarez, but there are, as yet, no confirmed records from this protected area. This species is protected by Mexican law under the "Special Protection" category (Pr).
