Geographic Range [top]

Range Description: This species is so far known only from two localities in the Congo basin in the Democratic Republic of Congo: the type locality at Gembe, in the Marais Koiteko, near Lodja, Sankuru; and from Monkoto near Salonga National Park. It probably occurs widely in the southern Congo basin.

Population: The population status of this species is unknown. There have been no recent records, presumably due to lack of herpetological work within its range.

Habitat and Ecology: This species has been found in heavily degraded former forest (farm bush), although it is not known whether or not it is found inside forest. Its breeding habits are unknown, though reproduction presumably takes place in water.
