Listed as Endangered because its extent of occurrence is less than 5,000 km², all individuals are in fewer than five locations, and there is continuing decline in the extent and quality of its habitat in the Uluguru Mountains.

Range Description:	Crocidura telfordi is endemic to the Eastern Arc Mountains in Tanzania, inhabiting parts of the Uluguru Mountains and Udzungwa Mountains (Stanley et al. 2000). This species occurs above 1,150 m asl.

Population:	This species occurs at very low densities and is not often found.
