|Scientific Name:||Elephantorrhiza rangei Harms|
|Red List Category & Criteria:||Endangered B1ab(iii) ver 3.1|
|Reviewer(s):||Victor, J.E. & Hilton-Taylor, C. (Southern African Plants Red List Authority)|
Elephantorrhiza rangei is assessed as Endangered. The RAMAS® Red List version 2.0 software package was used to make this assessment.
This species is known only from one population at Naute Dam (extent of occurrence < 625 km²) and it is not known if the plant still exists there. There could be other subpopulations, but surveys are required to confirm this. Irrigation development below the Naute Dam, including roads and disregard for the species' sandy habitat, may threatened the species.
