Justification: A herb or subshrub endemic to Ecuador, where it is widely distributed in Andean paramo. Several collections are from the Parque Nacional Cotopaxi, and one is from the Parque Nacional Sangay; also expected to be found in the Antisana, Chimborazo and Cayambe-Coca protected areas. The principal threats are grazing and fires. No specimens of this species are housed in Ecuadorean museums. |
