Justification:
A terrestrial herb endemic to Andean Ecuador. Most of the five collections are from near Baños or on the Papallacta-Baeza road, where the species was collected in gallery forest along the Río Papallacta. Expected to be found in the Reserva Ecológica Cayambe-Coca, the Reserva Ecológica Antisana, the Parque Nacional Sangay and the Parque Nacional Llanganates and considered Least Concern due to the vast expanses of forest protected by these. No specimens of this species are housed in Ecuadorean museums. Apart from habitat destruction, no specific threats are known.
