Justification:
An epiphytic shrub or vine endemic to western Ecuador, where it is known from five subpopulations in a wide altitudinal range. Not known to occur inside Ecuador’s protected areas network, but expected in the Reserva Ecológica Cayambe-Coca. No specimens of this species are housed in Ecuadorean museums. Apart from habitat destruction, no specific threats are known.
