An epiphytic vine endemic to eastern Ecuador, where it is known from four subpopulations. Two are from the Cordillera de Huacamayos – from between El Chaco and Reventador and at kilometer 25 of the Hollín-Loreto road – and two from close to Puyo. Expected in the Sumaco-Napo-Galeras and Cayambe-Coca protected areas. No specimens of this species are housed in Ecuadorean museums. Apart from habitat destruction, no specific threats are known.
