Justification: A treelet endemic to Ecuador, where it is known only from the type, collected in 1968 in the Santo Domingo-Chone road, near Flavio Alfaro in Manabí province. Considered Critically Endangered because this zone is not inside any protected area and most of its forest has been destroyed during the last 50 years. No specimens of this species are housed in Ecuadorean museums. Apart from habitat destruction, no specific threats are known. |
