Contributor/s:
Justification: A grass endemic to Andean Ecuador. Not seen since A. Hitchcock collected the type in 1923 between Loja and San Lucas, in an Agave hedge. No specimens of this species are housed in Ecuadorean museums and the type locale is not in a protected area. Apart from habitat destruction, no specific threats are known.
