Justification:
A grass endemic to Andean Ecuador. Common on slopes and roadsides in central Ecuador, where 13 subpopulations have been recorded. Protected in the Parque Nacional Sangay and the Parque Nacional Llanganates. Apart from habitat destruction, no specific threats are known.
