Justification: A bamboo endemic to Ecuador, where it is known from nine subpopulations in upper Andean forest. Apparently common in wet forests of the eastern Andes, from Loja and Zamora-Chinchipe to southern Azuay. Protected in the Parque Nacional Podocarpus. Apart from habitat destruction, no specific threats are known. |
