Justification: A treelet endemic to Ecuador, where it is known from three records in the coastal forests of Pichincha province. An infertile specimen collected in the Patía region of southern Colombia, may also be this species. No specimens of this species are housed in Ecuadorean museums and no subpopulations are confirmed in protected areas. Apart from habitat destruction, no specific threats are known. |
