Justification: A shrub endemic to southern Ecuador, where it is known only from the original 1945 collection. Discovered at the crest of the eastern cordillera, between Oña and the Río Yacuambi. Could potentially occur inside the Parque Nacional Podocarpus. No specimens of this species are housed in Ecuadorean museums. Apart from habitat destruction, no specific threats are known. |
