Justification: Fuchsia hypoleuca is endemic to Ecuador's southern Andes, where it is known from a single population. The type was collected there in 1923 and it was last collected there in 1994. Considered Endangered due to its very small geographic range. Habitat destruction is the only known threat. |

| Range Description: | Endemic to Ecuador's southern Andes, where it is known from a single population between Loja and Saraguro, near San Lucas, approximately 30 km north of Loja. A. Hitchcock collected the type there in 1923 and it was last collected there in 1994. |
