Threats [top]

Major Threat(s): Throughout its range, it is threatened by extensive forest clearance. The Northwest Province subpopulation is highly threatened as closed-canopy forest is scarce here today; it was noted in the collection of 1975 that the forest patch in which it was found was "now in exploitation by local people with handsaws"; this site is therefore likely to be lost. At Mt Kupe, it was recorded most often above Nyasoso, at around 1,000 m alt., where agricultural encroachment is causing significant losses of forest. Sites around Yaoundé are also likely to have been lost.

Conservation Actions [top]

Conservation Actions: Protection of existing mid-elevation forest is required where possible.
