Justification:
A herb or subshrub endemic to high-elevation Andean sites in Ecuador, where it is known from four populations. Not confirmed to occur inside Ecuador’s protected areas network, but some of the recorded populations may be protected in the Parque Nacional Sangay and Parque Nacional Llanganates. Apart from habitat destruction, no specific threats are known.
