Justification:
A terrestrial herb endemic to Ecuador's central and southern Andes. The collections mention both paramos with dry soils and paramos with swampy soils. Not known to occur inside Ecuador’s protected areas network, but could be present in paramos of the Sangay and Cajas protected areas. Potential threats are fires and over-grazing.
