Justification:
A herb or subshrub endemic to the southern paramos of Ecuador, where it is known from seven populations. Not known to occur inside Ecuador’s protected areas network, but may occur inside similar habitats in the Parque Nacional Sangay and Parque Nacional Podocarpus. Possibly threatened by fires.
