Justification: A shrub endemic to Andean paramo in Ecuador. Most of the collections are from Azuay province. One collector described the plant growing in a thin layer of soil on dry stones. Not known to occur inside Ecuador’s protected areas network. Principal threats are overgrazing and fires in the paramo. |
