|Habitat and Ecology:||
Locally common on coastal and inland plains where it is typically an undershrub in Croton socotranus shrubland; co-dominant with Croton socotranus and Pulicaria stephanocarpa in the dwarf shrubland of the western inner plains. Altitude of 0–250 m.
Often heavily grazed and appearing as a dark, almost black, mound beneath Croton socotranus.
