|Habitat and Ecology:||
Widespread and common in a variety of vegetation types. Altitude of sea-level to 800 (–1,000) m.
Hypoestes pubescens has sometimes been considered to be a form of the widespread and variable H. forskalei. However, plants on Soqotra are consistently grey-green herbs with clear lilac flowers. For the time being H. pubescens is maintained as a distinct species.
