Justification:
Colpodium hedbergii is a high altitude grass species endemic to Kenya. It is known only from Mt Elgon and Mt Kenya. Although both subpopulations are within protected areas, the species is restricted to high altitude moorland alongside streams (3,580–4,000 m a.s.l.). The population occurs in less than five locations and potentially is susceptible to habitat loss due to climate change. There is, however, a need to search out for more literature to ascertain why the herbarium collections have not been curated.
