Scientific Name: Bedotia sp. nov. 'Ankavia-Ankavanana'
Taxonomic Notes: Voucher specimens held at the American Museum of Natural History. Submitted as Bedotia sp. nov. 'Antalaha' and subsequently changed to Bedotia sp. nov. 'Ankavia-Ankavanana' on recommendation of Paul Loiselle.

This is a recently recognised, undescribed species with voucher specimens held at the American Museum of Natural History. The species is highly abundant, but within a restricted range (extent of occurrence < 20,000 km²). There is continued loss of habitat due to deforestation of the catchment.
