This species has a small area of occupancy (96.1 km²) and grows outside any protected area within north-west Madagascar. It is therefore threatened by habitat degradation and human activity, as well as by illegal collection for the horticultural trade.

Range Description: Endemic to Madagascar. Found in the Ananalalava district (Ambarijeby, Boriziny): Port-Bergé area. The habitat of E. guillauminiana is likely to be highly fragmented.
