This species, collected once, grows in an inaccessible area east of Betroka. The exact range is unknown but likely to be very restricted. A field study in this area is required, but no-one has managed to go there as yet. This species is thus rated VU D2.

Range Description: Madagascar, south-western domain, near the city of Betroka. Known from a single specimen, never collected again. One locality known.
