Justification: A vine endemic to Ecuador, where it is known from two collections made in the northwestern Andes. Not known to occur inside Ecuador’s protected areas network, but may be found in the Reserva Ecológica Cotacachi-Cayapas. The principal threat is deforestation, which has increased in the past years due to road construction. No specimens of this species are housed in Ecuadorian museums. Habitat destruction is the only known threat to the species. |
