Justification:
A shrub or liana endemic to Ecuador, where it is known from three subpopulations on the western slopes of the central and southern Andes. Collected near Chagal and Molleturo, in Balsapamba, and west of the Chillanes. Additional subpopulations may be found in upper Andean vegetation remnants in the western Andes. No specimens of this species are housed in Ecuadorian museums. Habitat destruction is the only known threat to the species.

Range Description: Known from three subpopulations on the western slopes of the central and southern Andes, within the Azuay and Bolívar provinces. Collected near Chagal and Molleturo, in Balsapamba, and west of the Chillanes.
