Justification: A liana endemic to Ecuador, where it is known from six Andean subpopulations. We have not seen precise locale information, but the reported provinces indicate a wide geographical distribution. Not confirmed inside Ecuador's protected areas network, however, three subpopulations have been reported in areas near the Parque Nacional El Angel and the Reserva Ecológica Cotacachi-Cayapas. Habitat destruction is the only known threat to the species. |
