Justification: An epiphytic fern endemic to Ecuador. Known from three collections made in the nineteenth century, two of them in Pichincha province: in forests on the banks of the Río Pilatón and in Santo Domingo. The third record is from Archidona, in Napo province. Not known to occur inside Ecuador’s protected areas network, but might be found inside the Reserva Ecológica Antisana and the Reserva Ecológica Cayambe-Coca. No specimens of this species are housed in Ecuadorian museums. Apart from habitat destruction, no other threats are known.
