Justification: A terrestrial fern endemic to Ecuador. Widely distributed in the southeastern provinces, where it forms large colonies inside forests with soils rich in organic matter. Not known to occur inside protected areas but may occur in the lower eastern area of the Parque Nacional Podocarpus. Apart from habitat destruction, no other threats are known. |
