Justification:
An epiphytic fern endemic to Ecuador's coastal forests, where it is known from four subpopulations. Currently only small forest remnants exist in these areas, which have been massively altered over the last 50 years by the advance of agriculture. Ongoing habitat destruction is the main threat.
