Justification: A shrub endemic to Ecuador where it has been collected twice. Described from a W. Jameson collection made in the nineteenth century near Quito. A second collection was recorded in Azuay in 1945. The species has not been seen since. Not known to occur inside Ecuador’s protected areas network. No specimens of this species are housed in Ecuadorian museums. Habitat destruction is the only known threat to the species. |
