Justification:
A terrestrial herb endemic to Ecuador where it is known from three subpopulations in paramos of the western Andes in Azuay province. One is along the San Joaquin Soldados-Angas road, near the Río Yanucay. Another subpopulation grows in the Lagunas de Suerococha inside the Parque Nacional Cajas. A third occurs in El Toreador between Molleturo and Quinoas. The population size and potential threats are unknown.
