Justification: A shrub endemic to Ecuador, where it is known from two subpopulations in the upper Andean forests of Azuay. First recorded in 1945 in the mountain range between El Pan and Guachapalá. The second collection is from 1979 and without locale information. No specimens of this species are housed in Ecuadorian museums. Habitat destruction is the only known threat to the species. |
