Justification:
A shrub endemic to Ecuador, where it is known from a single population in Loma de Ora, between San Lucas and Saraguro, in the southern Andes. The population was discovered in an area where Andean forest remnants are mixed with crops and pastures. Habitat destruction is the only known threat to the species.
