Justification:
A shrub endemic to Ecuador. Known from a single collection in 1990, in the Paramo Mirador, southwest of Playón de San Francisco and south of the Río Chingual, in Sucumbíos province. Additional subpopulations may occur in the Reserva Ecológica Cayambe-Coca. Habitat destruction is the only known threat to the species
