Justification:
A shrub endemic to Ecuador, where it has been recorded in 4 geographically isolated locales. Not known to occur inside Ecuador’s protected areas network, but additional subpopulations may occur in the Antisana, Llanganates or Sangay protected areas. No specimens of this species are housed in Ecuadorian museums. Habitat destruction is the only known threat to the species.
