Justification: A shrub endemic to Ecuador, where it has been recorded from two isolated locales. The first subpopulation was discovered in the Cordillera de los Llanganates, Tungurahua province; and the second in Loja province. The Tungurahua population is protected inside the Parque Nacional Llanganates. No specimens of this species are housed in Ecuadorian museums. Habitat destruction is the only known threat to the species. |
