Justification: An epiphytic bromeliad endemic to Ecuador's southern Andes where it is known from eight collections from four subpopulations in Limón, Chigüinda, Pan de Azúcar and the Yangana-Valladolid road. Not known to occur inside Ecuador’s protected areas network. The principal threat is the conversion of forest remnants to pasture. Habitat destruction is the only known threat to the species. |
