Justification: An epiphytic bromeliad endemic to Ecuador where it is known from two subpopulations in Mera and Shell. Both collections are from trees left standing in pastures. Not known to occur inside Ecuador’s protected areas network. The principal threat is deforestation and loss of forest remnants. Habitat destruction is the only known threat to the species. |
