Justification:
A hemiepiphytic aroid endemic to Ecuador, where it is known only from the type, collected by C. Dodson in 1977 in the Río Palenque private reserve. Considered Critically Endangered due to the small size of the reserve and the near-total destruction of the surrounding forests. No specimens of this species are housed in Ecuadorian museums. Habitat destruction is the only known threat to the species.
